Boat
|
 |
A boat is a great way to see countryside that would otherwise be
inaccessible. I try to get out on the water as much as possible, whether it is a commercial cruise or privately owned vessel.
I
am lucky to have friends that help me by building equipment that
suits their needs as well as mine. Bellow Scott sits in his brand
new Quintrex awaiting the maiden voyage. Scott's boat is fitted out with an
aluminium floor and concealed eye bolts so I can fasten my chair
down. It can be wheeled to the side of the
bus, I drive down
the bus ramp onto the floor, then the boat and I can be wheeled down
the
boat ramp and into the water. Below that is a 10ft tinni 'The Chip', to
get in this boat involved allot of lifting and therefore it was used
less frequently.

I
can't hold a fishing line but I still like to be amongst the
action. I mount my camera on my chair and take wildlife photos.
Boating can be dangerous at the best of
times so make sure you check the weather, go out with people who are
experienced, tie yourself in securely, take an Epirb and have an
emergency plan.
